Dr. Michelle Barnes
Dr. Barnes is the owner and founder of Michelle Barnes OD PC, serving Hollidaysburg and surrounding areas. Dr. Barnes earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and her Doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Salus University. She is a longstanding member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. In 2013, her peers selected Dr. Barnes as the Mid-Counties POA Optometrist of the Year, and she has twice been selected as “Hometown Favorite Eye Doctor” for the Altoona Mirror’s Hometown Favorites contest.
Dr. Gretta Brown
Dr. Gretta Brown graduated summa cum laude from Saint Francis University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She is a 2018 graduate of the Accelerated Scholars Program at Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Dr. Brown is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and currently serves as President of the Southwestern Optometric Society. She was honored to be named the Southwestern Optometric Society Young Optometrist of the Year in 2021, 2023, and 2026. Prior to returning to the area, Dr. Brown practiced for eight years at a private optometry practice in Johnstown, PA. She provides full-scope optometric care with special interests in the treatment and management of glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. Dr. Brown is excited to be back in her hometown serving her local community. She and her husband, Caleb, have two sons and a mini Goldendoodle, Charlie. Outside the office, Dr. Brown enjoys baking, playing piano, and spending time with family and friends.
